Vinti Andrews introduces her Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection by manipulating material and texture to glamourize characters from US Slasher movies, specifically from the late 1970’s – 80’s. The collection highlights the ‘perfect high school victim’ stereotype – Goths Vs Jocks for example, is an essential attribute to the theme.

Vinti expresses “The idea of opposite sub cultures coming together, joining forces and exchanging traits to find the killer… defeating the enemy.

This season combines both natural and man made (High-tech) material – such as Cotton and Nylon, which accentuate various textures like chenille, sequins and beadings. Mixtures of different plaids in distinct garments are also a prominent feature this season, as is the use of traditional tie-dye techniques.

Vinti Andrews’ signature attribute of handmade craftwork are articulated through printing, embroidery and beading – offering the wearer devoted quality that pushes a bespoke state of mind, making each garment a personal fragment of modernity.
