TOD’S Presents “The Art Of Craftsmanship”, A Tim Walker Project
by Adriano Batista
Tod’s, a universe that embraces the timeless values of Italian craftsmanship and excellence, is teaming up with renowned artist Tim Walker to showcase The Art of Craftsmanship.

This project unveils the intricate creation process of the brand’s iconic products, from the Di Bag to the Gommino, through a whimsical and surreal visual story. With contemporary language, the artist plays with proportions and tools to illustrate the crucial artisanal steps such as cutting, sewing, and brushing. Each image portrays a tale of tradition, quality, and skilled hands, reminding us that behind each product lies the mastery of artisans and their tools.
“The Italian lifestyle and exceptional craftsmanship are core values for Tod’s, and having Tim Walker interpret them allows us to pass these values on to the younger generation as well, speaking their language,” says Diego Della Valle, President and CEO of Grupo Tod’s.
In a world dominated by machines and industrial-scale production, The Art of Craftsmanship celebrates the irreplaceable value of artisanal expertise. Tim Walker adds, “The people I met in the company and their experience were the true source of inspiration.”
Through this project, Tod’s and Tim Walker bring to life a message of art, beauty, and job well done, resonating with the authentic values that Tod’s is known for. The exhibition will debut during Milan Design Week 2023 at the Cavallerizze of the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci and will travel around the world throughout the year.
