Thom Browne Resort 2025
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The new year could not have started in a better way, as far as fashion is concerned, and one of the reasons why we say this is because the eponymous fashion house Thom Browne has unveiled its Resort 2025 collection, where it has once again demonstrated why it is currently considered one of the clear benchmarks in tailoring.
48 looks are the ones that corroborate the aforementioned and at the same time those that make up the proposal of the American designer and his team, which have seen the light after months of work through a lookbook. These have been made, as well as with rich fabrics, in the signature colour palette of grey and its many variations, white, blue, red, and black, giving the garments more character and personality, although frankly, they almost don’t need it, because the pieces that Browne designs are not ordinary pieces that go unnoticed, especially when it comes to tailoring, as most of them have something that makes them special, such as the silhouette, the way they are made, or how from Thom combines them or builds the looks.
Styling does a lot, and the company excels at it, because through the layering technique, they manage to make the preppy style not overly sweet or overloaded, and that’s difficult, considering that dog-shaped bags or striped socks get most of the attention. But regardless of that and the layering, it is undeniable that they offer something fresh and different to menswear, because when talking about this style of fashion, most brands tend to stick to the established and normative, suits, and of course do not touch at all anything related to skirts, shorts, embroidery with animal or floral shapes, or patchwork, as they do.
We could have talked about the multitude of items that make up the Resort 2025 line, how well it covers every type of situation, how perfectly tailored the three-quarter coats are, or the details that make Thom Browne’s clothes unique, but it’s better to highlight the freshness they bring to the business every time they present something.
