The Genesis of an Eclectic Wardrobe
by Adriano Batista
Tareet is not just a brand, but a story of two cultures coming together. Born from the family’s Afro-European roots, Tareet celebrates the diversity and richness of both worlds, creating a wardrobe that is both unique and versatile.
Tareet’s creative process is innovative and experimental, using 3D mockups and molding techniques to conceptualize and craft the silhouettes. The result is a fusion of styles that is both contemporary and timeless, reflecting the designer’s vision and personality.
Tareet is ready to showcase his work to the world, with his first exhibition at Lucid Interval, a gallery in Paris, on February 29th and March 1st. The exhibition will feature several silhouettes, as well as an official collaboration with Asics, the Japanese sportswear brand. Tareet has reimagined Asics’ football jerseys and footwear, infusing them with his dystopian and ancestral universe. The collaboration also highlights Asics’ presence in the South of France, where Tareet is based in Marseille.
The exhibition will also display Tareet’s leather and heritage weaving work, which he has been developing since the beginning of his career. He uses leftover leather skins to create jackets, pants, bombers, and caps, with intricate details and raw craftsmanship. He also gives a second life to some archive CP Company garments, a brand that he grew up with and admires.
