With the invitation for the Fall/Winter 2015 season Stephan Schneider uses the scrabble’s lettered tile to let one fantasize and vivify one’s imagination searching for a word and a meaning.
Commenting our overvisualized world of today, where images pass and penetrate our mind everywhere and everytime Stephan Schneider looked at “Scrabble”, the classic family game where using language and memorization is requested. Scrabble offers a playground for language artists as well as for grandma’s, nerdy brains and calculators. it unites poetry and mathematics.
This mix of intellectuality, tradition and oddity was the starting point for Stephan Schneider’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection.
The typical scrabble visuals are translated throughout the collection.
Grids of small and big scale are woven onto cotton flanels, double face wools and jacquards. Saturated greens, blues and somber tones alternate with snowwhite and earthy shades of brown and beige.
Using bleached denim in classic shapes with tailored finishings brings a relaxed and urban feel to the silhouette: therefore offers a new approach to an essential of the male wardrobe .
Schneider’s FW15 collection celebrates the beauty, complexity and virtuosity of languages and embraces the gift of being able to construct images and stimulate imagination through words.
