senhor PRUDÊNCIO X Rita Roque FW14 Lookbook
by Adriano Batista

Portuguese menswear, footwear and accessories label senhor PRUDÊNCIO, announces their collaboration with Rita Roque, a Portuguese artist and illustrator. Bringing together the artistic flair of Roque and the high quality craftsmanship of senhor PRUDÊNCIO, it wasn’t too difficult to create imagery that will enhance the FW14 collection by senhor PRUDÊNCIO, titled 21.14 VINTEEUMCATORZE.
Following the European avant-garde of the early twentieth century, and the Futurist movement of the Geração de Orpheu, senhor PRUDÊNCIO pushes forward – strengthening design codes and ideas around the construction of footwear and accessories. The graphic aspects highlight the preference for vital speed and dynamism, as well as the pursuit of the unpredictable and unusual.
Roque takes all the above elements and presents us with a beautiful series of images using the traditional collage technique on the existing photographs from senhor PRUDÊNCIO’s AW14 lookbook.
“Doppelgänger is the name of the series that traverses the doubles , in an extension of bodies, prolonged anthropomorphic figures in the reflexes that wander around in a fixed space in suspension. Duplicated , gagged , fire resistant and at the speed of existence , these collages made in direct cropping by Rita Roque, arise by the agglutination of images from senhor PRUDÊNCIO AW14 Collection, in a search for a body metamorphosis giving primacy to the shoe, symbol maestro of the image.” – Rita Roque
