To commemorate the 25th anniversary of this emblematic model, Reebok Classic launches The Pump Respect Pack. The Pump technology revolutionized the sneaker’s world when it first appeared in 1989. The Pump consists in a sneaker’s button that uses pure CO2 to swell some air chambers. These chambers wrap up the feet, giving a costtomized fit that don’t even need laces (as in the Insta Pump Fury Style).

The Pump technology, that originally appered un the tongue of a sneaker, it was moved into some other Reebok categories. In the years after 1989 the styles that soon became a classic under the label “The Pump” recieved the general public approval. Paul Litchfield, The Pump creator and actual vice president of “Reebok Advanced Concepts” has devoloped some reserches about the sport sneakers, being The Pump one of his best examples. The Pump represents a technological advancement’s story for the styles to be adapted to the costumers requirements.

For its launch in 1989 The Pump had the collaboration of the NBA players Dominique Wilkins y Dennis Rodman and the tennis player Michael Chan, who were recognized players in their sport’s scope. Now, in 2014, some of The Pump styles – Pump Running Dual Mu, Reebok Insta Pump Fury, Reebok Pump Omni Lite, y Reebok Court Victory Pump – come back, aesthetically unified in a combination of black, yellow and red, but without loosing their substance and the technology that made them a landmark in the sneakers history.
