Reebok Classic continues its collaboration with multi-platinum selling Top Dawg Entertainment artist Kendrick Lamar, launching his second capsule which celebrates one of the brand’s most iconic sneakers, the Classic Leather. Leading the field for this year’s Grammy Awards with 11 nominations, Kendrick brings the authenticity and originality of his music to life with this design, which revisits the inspirational neutrality story inspired by his hometown of Compton, California.
Following last season’s Ventilator collaboration, Kendrick’s highly successful debut design for Reebok Classic, Spring/Summer 2016 sees the artist pay homage to the sneaker he grew up with and wore throughout high-school, the Classic Leather. A timeless, dual-gender silhouette that tells an authentic heritage story, Kendrick updates the Classic Leather’s clean aesthetic with a red and blue theme.
As both partners continue to push the boundaries of fusing music and sneaker culture, the timeless Classic Leather is given a neutral makeover as Kendrick maintains his powerful message of bringing peace and unity to the streets.
