PUMA x OPEN YY Reimagines Sportswear With the Iconic H-Street
by Adriano Batista
PUMA and Korean designer brand OPEN YY are back with their second collaboration, this time reworking the brand’s athletic roots into something more relaxed and versatile. Centered around the H-Street, a sneaker with track and field origins, the collection combines performance heritage with everyday wearability.
OPEN YY, led by sisters Ji-Young and Bo-Young, is known for finding harmony in contrasts, something that comes through in this lineup. After their first collaboration turned heads with a reinterpretation of the Speedcat OG, they now shift focus to the H-Street, reshaping its low-profile silhouette with subtle but impactful details.
The sneaker gets a refined update: a slim outsole, detachable tongue with dual-brand embroidery, and a mix of nubuck overlays and breathable mesh for lightweight comfort. The Formstrip, usually a bold graphic, appears here as delicate stitching, a quieter take on PUMA’s signature. Three colorways nod to sport and ease: beige (sunlit tracks), blue (open skies), and white (effortless motion).
The apparel follows the same philosophy, merging athletic function with daily wear. A running vest and shorts could easily transition from track to street, while a sleeveless top adds a softer, feminine touch. The pieces avoid looking overly technical, focusing instead on clean shapes and understated details.
The campaign plays with the idea of sport blending into daily life, using optical illusions to transform ordinary scenes into something more imaginative. It’s a fitting theme for a collection built for movement, whether running or just moving through the day.
