Pitti Immagine Uomo announces next edition’s Guest of Honor
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The Pitti Immagine Uomo men’s fashion fair in Florence is an unmissable date in the calendar of many, especially those who love tailoring. Around it, there are usually other events that elevate it further, among which are the fashion shows of the guest designers or guests of honor. Some of the most famous names in the industry or the most avant-garde brands have passed through it, such as Virgil Abloh, Rick Owens, and MM6 Maison Margiela, among many others. As can be imagined, after their participation, the expectation of knowing who will be the next one is always quite high, and it’s no wonder that the choices made to date are always surprising. Without further ado, the Guest of Honor of the 108th edition is HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE.

Indeed, the brand launched in Japan in 2013 and based on the technology of pleating garments to design and make everyday garments that are universal for the diversity of users, will be part of the official calendar of Pitti – held between 17 and 20 June – and will present a collection there, specifically on the 18th.
Of this news, Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, commented: “The presence of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE at the upcoming Pitti Uomo in June fills us with pride and excitement. We have long hoped to associate the name of the great Japanese brand with our event, and today we are finally able to share a long-awaited announcement: HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE will be the Guest of Honor at Pitti Uomo 108. This is our way of recognizing and celebrating the quality, creativity and originality of the brand, its success on a global scale – and, at the same time, highlighting the brand’s current creative direction, which has successfully reinterpreted the quiet, elegant magic of its founder: one of the designers, one of the artists, who marked the history of fashion in the twentieth century. I don’t dare to give comments as I was a fashion critic, but I can’t help but be struck by the blend of elegance, functionality, innovative use of color and materials, artistic flair and conceptual lightness that define HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s work. It’s a vision that both honors and revitalizes such a powerful and distinctive legacy. For this show, Florence is, as always, ready to offer an evocative and unforgettable setting.”
While the HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE design team added: “We feel grateful for this opportunity to be featured at one of the most celebrated menswear events around the world. On this occasion, we will present our Spring Summer 2026 collection to a local and international audience in Florence, created based on our research and field studies carried out during our travels across Italy.”
What will HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE have in store? We’ll have to wait until the date to find out. Stay tuned for more news!
