In keeping with their firm commitment to ethical and sustainable design, PHIPPS has partnered with Oceanic Global in celebration of World Oceans Day: a yearly call to action on June 8th. The event, founded in 1992, and officially recognized by the United Nations in 2008 is a major one in Oceanic Global’s calendar, whose goal is to create learning experiences and sustainable collaborations in and around ocean education.

PHIPPS’ message is simple: “Save the Fucking Whales”. The slogan, which can be read on both a knit sweater and a classic t-shirt, encapsulates the brand’s ethos- satirical, but committed. The latter is printed with the highest attention to ecological standards: it uses water-based ink as opposed to inks with toxic plastic components and has a slim-fitting, organic cotton jersey base. The t-shirt will feature a QR code, a fast, virtual, and impactful way to discover more about the collaboration.

OG and PHIPPS intend to generate a measurable impact for ocean conservation by directing the QR code to a donation platform, and once the FW21 collection is in-store, by donating 15% of all webshop sales in June to Oceanic Global.

“I fucking love the ocean,m and would like to get everyone excited about taking care of it” – Spencer Phipps.
