Oud Minérale: A New Olfactory Adventure by Tom Ford
by Adriano Batista
Tom Ford is launching a new fragrance that combines oud and the ocean in a unique way. Oud Minérale is a scent that explores the contrast between the rich and resinous oud wood and the fresh and mineral ocean. It is a fragrance that transcends the boundaries of traditional olfactory categories and creates a new genre of its own.

The fragrance opens with a burst of peppercorn rose, a spicy and vibrant note that enhances the brightness of the oud wood. The oud wood is then immersed in the ocean, creating a refreshing and exhilarating sensation. The fragrance captures the essence of the sea, with its salty, aquatic and mineral nuances.
The heart of the fragrance is a balance between the elements, where the mineral and marine aspects of the ocean are complemented by the addition of fir balsam, a green and woody note that adds depth and harmony. The fragrance also features cypriol, a rare and precious oil extracted from the roots of the cyperus plant. Cypriol has a smoky and earthy character that amplifies the power and complexity of the oud wood.

The base of the fragrance is a blend of deep woods, such as patchouli and vetiver, that create a warm and sensual trail. The fragrance also contains an ambergris accord, a natural and animalic ingredient that adds a touch of elegance and refinement. The ambergris accord envelops the skin with a sun-kissed glow, creating a lasting and memorable impression.

Oud Minérale is a fragrance that expresses pure emotion, a fusion of elements that creates a new dimension of oud. It is a fragrance that reinvents oud in a way that only Tom Ford can.
