Meryll Rogge is the new Creative Director of Marni
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
The wait and speculation are over. Almost a month after Francesco Risso‘s departure, Marni now has a new Creative Director: Belgian designer Meryll Rogge. And yes, it’s a signing that promises to be something to talk about.

If her name doesn’t ring a bell yet, take note: Meryll has just won the prestigious ANDAM award and has been making her mark in the industry for years. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Antwerp (a cradle of talent), she went to New York to work with Marc Jacobs and later headed the design team at Dries Van Noten. Experience, vision and sensitivity are not lacking.
Both parties are very happy about this union, and Renzo Rosso – Chairman of OTB – expressed it with the following words: “We met many highly qualified candidates, confirming how Marni continues to inspire and attract creatives from around the world. Meryll impressed us with the sensitivity she brought to reinterpreting the brand’s DNA, offering a contemporary vision that embraces Marni globally and across all its dimensions – including accessories, interior design, communication, and special projects. I wish her the best in carrying this vision forward with passion, supported by a team and a Group that have always placed creativity at the core of their identity”.
While Meryll added: “I’m truly honored to join Marni a house I’ve long admired for its independent spirit. To take on a role defined by such visionary creative directors is both humbling and inspiring. I’m deeply grateful to Renzo and Stefano for recognizing the resonance between our worlds and for entrusting me with this extraordinary opportunity. I look forward to helping shape what comes next for Marni“.
One era is closing and another one is opening with force. Rogge’s arrival marks the beginning of a new journey for Marni, one that aims to be bold, creative and – of course – personal.
Congratulations Meryll!
