MEO Kalorama 2025: Lisbon’s Festival Finds Its Place Among the Best
by Adriano Batista

For three days in June, Parque da Bela Vista in Lisbon was filled with music as MEO Kalorama returned for another year. From June 19-21, the festival showed it belongs alongside Europe’s top music events, offering strong performances while keeping its focus on accessibility and the environment.
The lineup mixed classic acts with newer artists. Pet Shop Boys played their well-known songs to a crowd that sang along to every word. The Flaming Lips brought their colorful show full of energy, while FKA twigs gave one of the weekend’s most memorable performances, combining music with movement and visuals in a way few artists can.

Dance music filled the air throughout the weekend. Scissor Sisters got people moving to their hits, and the PANORAMA LISBOA stage kept the party going from afternoon until late at night. Damiano David of Måneskin made his first solo appearance in Portugal, showing he can command a stage on his own.

Art played an important role across the festival grounds. The Openfield collective created interesting spaces for people to explore, and local artists Malibu Ninja designed the San Miguel Stage area. What made MEO Kalorama different was its effort to include everyone, with sign language interpreters, audio descriptions, quiet areas, and cleaner fuel for generators and equipment.

For a festival that’s only been around a few years, MEO Kalorama 2025 proved it can stand with much older events. With smart bookings that appeal to different generations and a real commitment to making the festival open to all, it’s becoming an important stop for music fans.
While we don’t know yet when MEO Kalorama will return in 2026, this year’s success guarantees people will be watching for news. After what we saw in 2025, next year’s festival will likely be another reason to visit Lisbon in summer.
