French singer-songwriter Zed Yun Pavarotti isn’t afraid to explore musical genres from cloud rap, rock, pop, and even trap. Since the release of his first mixtape Grand Zéro in 2018, he found himself a rising star of French rap. The shape-shifting artist is no longer a rapper, not quite a rocker, but a singer with many faces. His style is as rich and varied as his music.
After hitting the stage at Fursac’s concert meets fashion party during Paris Fashion Week, we sent photographers Marc Medina and Liza Prykhodko backstage at Maroquinerie to ask some of our favorite “Get to Know You” fashion questions.
We are taking a break from music, to talk fashion. What is your fashion era?
I think I’m more 90s, with a bit of 20s.
Do you mean 90s like Spice Girls?
Why not?! I just have to lose some weight (laughs).
Did you have a style icon growing up? Like Mel B?
Mine was Liam Gallagher.
If you could bring back one trend what would it be?
I old jackets, used, worn in, like the one Robert Patterson is wearing in the movie Good Time. The jacket that I am wearing, but in ten years, when it is stressed a bit.
Any fashion trends that you regret sporting?
I was a goth, emo.
Tonight you played in Fursac. How would you describe their vibe?
The thing that is usually hard to find is something that is both urban and classy. It is hard to combine the two because I want something that looks good and isn’t constrictive. There’s also a coolness with them that I like.
