Maison Margiela Brings Its Vision to Dubai Residences
by Adriano Batista

Maison Margiela is entering the world of residential living. The house has launched Maison Margiela Residences, its first project dedicated to creating a living environment. This move extends the brand’s long-standing engagement with architecture and design, translating its core codes into a space for life.
Developed with Alta Real Estate Development, the project consists of 25 bespoke units on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah. Each residence acts as a canvas for the brand’s unconventional vision. A custom furniture collection, conceived by Maison Margiela and architect Carlo Colombo, includes sofas, tables, and lighting. This creates a seamless visual language between the building’s exterior and its interior spaces.

The brand’s history with interiors is well established. Its early offices featured white-painted objects, turning everyday items into minimalist statements. This exploration continued through furniture exhibitions and collaborations, resulting in iconic pieces like armchairs unified by a single white cover. Signature objects, from bottle lamps to feather pens, became part of its design language.

This residential project continues that material exploration. It features Travertine furnishings that recall classic objects, the use of its signature “décortiqué” technique, and resin-filled details in optical white. The amenities, including an art gallery, library, and a Margiela Café, are an extension of the brand’s philosophy, offering residents an environment of discreet elegance.
The launch is part of a larger expansion in the region, coinciding with a new boutique and café in Dubai. The Chairman of OTB Group, Renzo Rosso, stated that it was inspiring to bring together over 30 years of the house’s history into this first project, hoping it marks the beginning of many more. For the developers, the residences represent a new vision of luxury, blending iconic design with bespoke experiences to redefine living in Dubai.
