LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers Announces the Shortlist
by Anna Barr

Out of more than 2,300 applicants worldwide, the 20 shortlisted finalists for the semi-final of the twelfth edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers have been unveiled. For over a decade, the prestigious prize has become one of the most exciting in the industry recognizing today and tomorrow’s leaders in savior faire along with sartorial creativity. Previous editions have brought such influential and innovative names including Hodakova, Duran Lantink, Setchu, Magliano, S.S. Daley, ERL, Winnie NY, KidSuper, Lukhanyo Mdingi, Rui, Ahluwalia, Casablanca, Nicholas Daley, Peter Do, Sindiso Khumalo, Thebe Magugu, Doublet, Rokh, Marine Serre, Grace Wales Bonner, Jacquemus and more.
“As the LVMH Prize steps into a new decade, it is my honour once more to welcome some exceptional talents. With this 2025 edition, we are seeing several compelling trends among emerging designers from all over the world, from a renewed interest in tailoring, to handcrafted embellishments and bold occasion dressing. This year’s shortlist of 20 brands also includes candidates from three countries that are new to the LVMH Prize: Egypt, Ghana and Saudi Arabia. I’m also delighted to welcome back two brands that have competed in the Prize in the past: Renaissance Renaissance (2021) and Soshiotsuki (2016).
This year again, many of the brands place high value on experimentation and aesthetics, just like our Savoir-Faire Prize which is entering its second edition. This award highlights the importance of craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability, echoing three key issues for today’s fashion and luxury industries. I would like to congratulate all the semi-finalists and look forward to meeting them at our showroom in Paris.” Delphine Arnault declared in a press statement.
During Paris Fashion week, the designers will present a selection from their upcoming collections in the LVMH Prize showroom visited by experts who will select eight finalist along with the public who will be involved in the LVMH Prize virtually on lvmhprize.com
Designers have the opportunity at three coveted prizes made up of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers with a 400,000-euro endowment along with a one-year custom mentorship by a dedicated LVMH team, The Karl Lagerfeld Prize that distinguishes the creativity of a young brand and comes with a 200,000-euro endowment as well as a one-year mentorship programme, and the recently added Savoir- Faire Prize which focuses on exceptional craftsmanship, technical expertise and innovation, as well as sustainability in a young brand.
