Virgil Abloh presented his Spring/Summer 2020 collection for Louis Vuitton during Paris Fashion Week marking his third season for the house. It was a Parisian affair set at the iconic Place Dauphine with a cafe flair. Abloh seems to have firmly settled into his new life in the City of Lights. When our invites arrived with a DIY kite kit, the immediate feeling was “Make Paris Great Again”.

It was a romantic optimistic atmosphere following up to a similar mood at his Off-White show the day before. Similarly inspired were ponchos and bucket hats but opting for the most luxury of fabrics. Floral patchwork on flowing layers also made an appearance while berry hues melted in a spectrum of lavender, blues took a more cement direction while apple green, pink and yellow continues to be the colors of the season. It was the rainbow LV monogram that stole the show though.

However, it was the sleek tailoring of today’s collection that’s set him apart from his other ventures and demographics, while balancing streetwear and luxe as seen on technical pants boasting pockets and straps while straw hats balanced out all the chains on display. Maybe next time he will take us to the south of France.
