Louis Vuitton collaborates with Sotheby’s, the world’s leading destination for art and luxury, to auction 200 pairs of the limited-edition Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” sneakers by Virgil Abloh. The auction will be the first in a series of Louis Vuitton events taking place throughout January 2022. Proceeds will go to the Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund, which in collaboration with the Fashion Scholarship Fund, supports the formation of students of black, African-American or African descent race with a promising academic future.
The auction marks the launch of the first Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh created in collaboration with Louis Vuitton and Nike for the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2022 collection. Prior to his passing on November 28, 2021, the Louis Vuitton Men’s Line Artistic Director was involved in setting up the organization of the auction and the events surrounding it. The auction will take place with the support of his family.
Bidding will open from January 26 to February 8 at Sothebys.com
