Louis Vuitton, a long-time associate partner of Art Basel Paris, is unveiling an exhibition honoring its enduring collaboration with famous architect and artist Frank Gehry. The exhibition is showcased on the Balcony of Honour at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Beyond his architectural achievements, Gehry’s artistic vision and experimental approach to forms and materials have been instrumental in his collaborations with Louis Vuitton. The exhibition features a curated selection of objects, drawings, and models that Gehry has created for the Maison over nearly two decades.

A centerpiece of the exhibition is a monumental hanging white fish sculpture, a recurring motif in Gehry’s architectural work. This delicate yet powerful piece symbolizes the aerodynamics and ornamental elements that characterize his designs. The sculpture is surrounded by a geometric arch of slats, referencing Gehry’s admiration for Japanese visual arts.

The exhibition also highlights the iconic Louis Vuitton Foundation building, a collaborative masterpiece between Gehry and the Maison. Designed with transparency and lightness in mind, the building showcases Gehry’s innovative use of materials and spatial concepts. The exhibition features illustrations, scale models, and sketches that reveal the architect’s creative process behind this architectural marvel.

Gehry’s designs for Louis Vuitton extend beyond architecture to include perfume stoppers and handbags. The exhibition showcases the Blossom design, inspired by flowers and flames, and the Murano glass stoppers created for Les Editions d’Art. The collection of bags designed by Gehry combines his unique aesthetic with Louis Vuitton’s craftsmanship.
