Louis-Gabriel Nouchi’s New Puma Mostro for Spring is our Latest Obsession
by Anna Barr
Last season saw independent French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi give us a peak at his new PUMA x LGN Mostro Mule on the runway and now it is finally coming out! Nouchi’s 2025 vision of the 1999 Mostro silhouette has a backless, slip-on fit, streamlined design, and characteristic spikes. The rubberized construction comes in two simple colorways: monochromatic black and white available from 23 January through LGN, and from 25 January at selected retailers, just in time for fashion week.
Just over 25 years ago, PUMA introduced the Mostro. The silhouette’s name is derived from the Italian word for “monster,” and it is now well-known for its matchless appearance, which has elevated it to street-style status.
This radical is inspired by PUMA’s namesake, the fearsome large cat, which represents strength and grace. “I synthesized the essence of the iconic Mostro shoes into a radical mule design using a single material, transforming it into both a design object and a comfortable sneaker,” Nouchi stated following his SS25 show.
Check it out below:

The PUMA x LGN Mostro Mule will be available for purchase starting January 23rd.
