LOEWE‘s “Crafted World” exhibition is coming to Tokyo this spring. This traveling show celebrates the brand’s history, its Spanish roots, and the importance of handmade things.

“Crafted World” was designed with the help of the architecture firm OMA. It will take visitors on a journey through LOEWE’s story, from its beginnings as a group of leather craftsmen to its position as a top luxury brand today. You can see iconic designs, learn about collaborations with other artists, and see how LOEWE’s things are made.

The Tokyo exhibition will have a special focus on LOEWE’s connections with Japan. It will feature Japanese artists and artisans, like the Ōnishi family who make teapots, and winners of the LOEWE Craft Prize. This shows LOEWE’s commitment to supporting and celebrating craftsmanship around the world.

Highlights include a video documenting the LOEWE Foundation’s support for the Ōnishi family, known for their centuries-old tradition of crafting ceremonial teapots in Kyoto. The exhibition will also feature works by LOEWE Craft Prize finalists, showcasing the incredible talent and innovation within the global craft community.
