Levi’s and NIGO have announced the release of their latest collaboration, set for spring/summer 2023. This will be the third collection following the previous releases of Archive Reproduction and HUMAN MADE over the past two years.
In 2023, the Levi’s® 501® jean, one of the most enduring style icons worldwide, will celebrate its 150th anniversary. What started as a patent for copper-riveted work pants in 1873 has become one of the most iconic, democratic, and influential garments ever created. To commemorate this historic milestone, Levi’s® has teamed up with NIGO to create a collection inspired by his personal favorite archive piece, the 501® Hickory Stripe jeans. A pioneer of Japanese streetwear and a denim enthusiast, NIGO has been collecting rare Levi’s® vintage pieces for decades, amassing one of the world’s largest personal collections.
The new Levi’s® x NIGO collection will debut alongside a campaign short film, shot in NIGO’s hometown. Embodying the theme “The future is in the past,” the video features a young NIGO wearing the collection, exploring many of the formative places and activities of his childhood in a go-kart.
The Levi’s® x NIGO collection launches worldwide on April 6, 2023, and will be available for purchase on Levi.com, the Levi’s® App, select Levi’s® stores, and humanmade.jp.
