LEBLANCSTUDIOS Fall/Winter 2025
by Adriano Batista
LEBLANCSTUDIOS’ Fall/Winter 2025 collection, OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY, made its debut on the CFDA calendar at The Standard, High Line. The collection explores social and economic roles through the lens of hierarchical systems, drawing parallels to feudal societies. It uses fashion to examine power dynamics and economic exchange, blending performance and design to create a thought-provoking experience.
The collection is built around reimagined character archetypes, each representing different roles within a structured society. The runway show featured a performance titled “Ongoing Quiet Performance,” where models walked on a salt-dusted runway. The performance included a scripted monologue and choreographed movements, highlighting themes of power and money. The script featured lines like:
The collection uses materials like denim, wool, leather, and nylon. The denim is treated with dye processes developed with a BSCI-certified washhouse in the Dominican Republic. Wool comes in different weights and is shown in gray, brown, and black. Brown leather, repurposed from automotive materials, is used for oversized jackets. The color palette includes brown, blue, and marigold tones.
Design details include double hems made of two layers of reversed lining with unfinished edges, and exposed elastics at jacket cuffs. Some pieces have unfinished collars with raw edges, while high-waisted, tailored trousers nod to historical styles. The collection also features a combined polo/trench design, peacoats, and distressed suits with visible inner layers. One standout piece is a hand-felted jacket made from two layers of nylon ripstop, processed using felting techniques.
