LACOSTE L!VE x AGI & SAM
by Fucking Young!

“Introducing a new collection from LACOSTE, a new state of mind, a new way to be in tune with today’s energy and vibes”.
In 2011, the brand founded by René Lacoste eighty years before launches itself in the LACOSTE L!VE project with the same adventurous spirit. Old School and Street Style blended in an exciting mix and match. An unexpected and cool combination of LACOSTE original mood and Underground Art. The croc buys into vintage, and a new kind of music shakes up polos, jeans and track jackets with slimmer and younger fits. The taste is impeccable, but the twist is unconventional, cooler and more fashionable. Each garment is versatile, suitable for day and night. The intention is to explore and cross the borders of the brand with a visionary attitude and a fresh spirit that opens to collaborations with emerging designers and artists… the talented ones.
After Sanghon Kim, Osamu Tezuka, JonOne and others, for the realization of the F/W2016-17 capsules the choice is the English duo Agi & Sam.

We met the designers a few years ago when, in 2013, they were working with Topman at a revolutionary men collection sold out in a matter of days and delivered worldwide in countries as far and wide as South America and Japan. Since then they have made their way. Today, Agi & Sam is a multi-award winning contemporary lifestyle brand, pushing creativity through a humorous approach. An accessible, aspirational and individual label that is instantly recognizable. With a strong emphasis on entirely bespoke textiles and humor, Agi Mdmulla and Sam Cotton believe that fashion should never be taken too seriously, whilst aiming at sitting firmly among brands that fear creating something different and those that push their collections too far.

So, in the collection designed for LACOSTE L!VE the young designers have chosen to mix their entirely bespoke textiles with strong tailoring roots and a love for sportswear. A match made in heaven for this collaboration, for which Agi and Sam have decided to think in the René Lacoste’s mindset. They have looked at the extensive archive of the iconic inventor and tennis player, and mostly into his work with textile designer Robert George – creator of the famous crocodile logo – in which they have found a large variety of beautifully hand-drawn stripes in red, white and blue.
The result is a sporty wardrobe of 15 pieces developed in blue, white and red only. It comprises outerwear, sweaters, shirts, t-shirts, shorts and trainers that feature color-blocking and bold patterns. Playful yet precisely tailored, the LACOSTE L!VE capsule suits perfectly the LACOSTE motto of using traditional savoir-faire to create young contemporary apparel.
