The inconformist Colm Dillane, as the adjective itself says, seems not to have had enough with having been one of the undisputed protagonists with his brand KidSuper of the last four editions of Paris Fashion Week, but wants more and more, so he has returned to work hard and as if there were no tomorrow, to be again. Goal achieved Colm, you have once again been one of the protagonists, but this time it has not been for offering the public a show full of hype, but for offering a Fall /Winter proposal that breathed fashion and complexity in all its splendour.

“From a Place I Have Never Been” is the name given to the collection referred to, presented at the iconic Halle Charlie Parker in La Villette, where the renowned artist Daniel Wurtzel was in charge of the part of the set and the kinetic sculpture that reigned in the middle of the stage where the models paraded with Dillane’s daring and kaleidoscopic novelties. It is said that fashion and art are closely connected disciplines – where the world of dreams and imagination play important roles – and this could be a clear example.

In this line, the American has explored the emotion and vulnerability of entering the unknown and then represented it in the corresponding garments and accessories, clearly divided into two parts: the urban and the elegant. Starting with the latter, the latter stood out for being full of dozens of suits, not regular or boring ones, but different and fun. It’s great when designers go for new things and break barriers and moulds established in the industry. Among the selection of tailoring clothes that were seen, it is worth mentioning the eclectic patterned suits or patchwork of different tones accompanied with fun ties, that update the concept of the preppy term and that seemed to be taken out of an American movie, ideal for a casual day as well as for a special event. But, if one wants an evening suit, then the attention should be drawn to the pinstripe with the brand’s name written on it.

As for the urban, that’s where oversized clothing comes in. Everything is oversized, it doesn’t matter if it’s the right size or not, the important point is the flow. Every piece that makes up this part could be spotted on any street in New York, whether it’s a parka, a down jacket or a fur coat, a sweatshirt,t or a pair of trousers, regardless of whether they are made of denim or leather. And something that would also be seen on the streets of any city are the brand’s new sneakers in collaboration with BAPE®, reimagining the brand’s iconic patterns and designs.

Continuing with the collabs, a capsule with WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto -among others- was also seen, to which the fun of KidSuper is added. Art and fun, what more could you ask for? Nothing more, or well yes, any of the fluid silhouette trench coats and wool trench coats adorned with intricate embroidery or the graphic-designed t-shirts.

Dillane is unstoppable, but that is not a bad thing, as long as he keeps on telling stories, offering us the same as he has done so far, or giving us moments like the performance of Ekaterina Shelehova, in charge of closing the show with her special etheric voice.
