Kevin Azzopardi‘s new collection, entitled ‘And Together We Come’ is the final instalment of a three part series titled ‘We Arrive In Pieces’. The body of work explores the process of manufacturing and endeavours to re-organise the system by which garments are assembled.
“The result is a unique interpretation of the manufacturing process where I have interrupted the outsourcing of garments by receiving them from my factory in a state of incompletion. Upon return, the pieces have been altered and reconfigured in my studio, adding another creative layer on top of the actual design process and manufacturing. By accepting the work back half done, I have reassumed creative control and responsibility for my garments and reclaimed the final say of its montage.”
