JNORIG’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, titled Yūgen, explores the dualities of Japanese culture, capturing both its beauty and its hidden complexities. Inspired by the concept of Kaizen—the continuous pursuit of improvement—the collection blends digital techniques with traditional craftsmanship, creating a balance between the modern and the artisanal. It reflects the values of giri (honor and obligation), celebrating peace, social harmony, and the efficiency that defines Japanese life. At the same time, it doesn’t shy away from addressing the darker aspects of society, such as social pressures, karoshi (death by overwork), and rigid hierarchies. Through thoughtful design, Yūgen challenges the idea of perfection and encourages empathy, offering a nuanced tribute to Japan’s culture and its universal human experiences.

The collection emphasizes the idea that true beauty lies within. This is shown through carefully crafted inner details of each garment, which are brought to the surface in some designs.
