Holzweiler has unveiled its Fall/Winter 2024 collection, titled “Mycelia”, inspired by the wonders of the mushroom kingdom. Drawing from the natural beauty of Norway’s spruce and pine forests, where mycelium – the intricate network of fungal roots – connects the soil and the plants, the collection explores the mushroom’s diverse shapes, healing properties, and spiritual significance.

Creative director Maria Skappel Holzweiler shares her personal connection to the mushroom, recalling her childhood memories of picking mushrooms with her family in the woods, a tradition she now passes on to her own children. She translates this fascination into the collection, using organic textures, earthy tones, and whimsical details.

The men’s collection reflects the spirit of the forager, a character who embodies the harmony between humans and nature, and a common archetype in Norwegian culture. The forager’s wardrobe consists of layered pieces, such as fluffy bouclé sweaters, canvas jackets, and leather pants, that mimic the textures of the forest. A key item is the Tine cardigan, which features multiple patch pockets for storing mushrooms, a nod to the practical attire of mushroom hunters.
