Gucci & Dover Street Market Open New York Permanent Shop-In-Shop
by Adriano Batista

Gucci announced the opening of a permanent shop-in-shop at Dover Street Market in New York City. This opening is part of an ongoing collaboration which debuted at Dover Street Market in Ginza, Tokyo and subsequently launched at Dover Street Market New York in September 2015.

Conceived exclusively for this location, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele has created a unique visual concept for Dover Street Market New York. The focal point of the display is a dramatic camel, navy and red chevron print. The print is featured in chevron wallpaper and carpeting, as well as fabric covered screens. Antique brass studs further embellish the screens and carpeting lending a touch of the industrial to this otherwise whimsical space. Additionally, red lacquered panels and armchairs in peacock and pistachio velvet soften the space. Looks from the collection are displayed on free standing metal racks and busts upholstered in vibrant velvet. In keeping with the elegant and contemporary eclecticism that characterizes Gucci’s new collections, the shop sees the combination of traditional and modern, industrial and romantic.

Located on the 7th floor of Dover Street Market New York, the space will be the first specialty store in North America to showcase products for men and women from Alessandro Michele’s SS16 collections.
