GOETZE Fall/Winter 2016 Lookbook
by Adriano Batista

Founded in 2011 by Sissi Goetze, the eponymous label SISSI GOETZE makes its debut as simply GOETZE this season. The revamp of the name and branding reclaims the labels commitment to its unique unconventional take on contemporary menswear.
It is the scallywags, the prize-fighters and allotment holders, just as the male icons of last century’s American cinema whose clothing synthesizes in Sissi Goetze’s classical, nearly abstract FW16 collection.
The season captures traditional silhouettes executed in a harmonious palette. Classic dress shirts are transformed with modern and unique touches. The dress shirts are adorned with matching ties, double layers, and multiple pocket designs. Interesting fabrics such as wool, geometric velvet and denim provide a new approach to classic trousers. Parkas, coats, bombers, pocketed vests and denim jackets offer versatile yet updated men’s outerwear pieces.
GOETZE’s trademark, a ‘hybrid sleeve’ forms the core of her conceptual approach to design: half a raglan/half a classic shoulder sleeve, which gives shape to a smooth, yet distinctive shoulder. This significant sleeve is applied to all tops, from a simple t-shirt, a bomber jacket to a classic coat.
FW16 integrates the designer’s signature elements, the recognizable hybrid sleeve construction, meticulous detail development and unique choice of fabric to create the most refined version of the label that we’ve ever seen.
