Five + 1 Scents to Transition into Fall
by Anna Barr
As a Virgo, I always feel like summer ends with me and fall starts. As we all say goodbye to summer holidays, September is my favorite transitioning month where we can mix light fall pieces with the warmer summer ones. We slowly replace our summer salads for something heavier and consider spending more time inside.
There are no rules when it comes to scents but we asked around to some of our favorite noses for scents that feel like fall forests, burnt wood, velvet, a blanket for cooler nights, and as pure and eco-friendly as possible. As your wardrobe changes for the season, here are five scents to transition with.
Editor’s Picks:

September Eau de Parfum by Björk and Berries
Björk and Berries newest fragrance September is a woody and aromatic scent with notes of pomelo, lavender, vetiver smoke, and pink praline. It’s a warm scent with memories of the first day of fall at the farm. All Björk and Berries Eau de Parfums are vegan and Made in Sweden with organic fermented alcohol, produced out of vegetable food waste.

Cowboy Grass Eau de Parfum by D.S. & Durga
This one really got me because notes of Sage is exactly what I want to carry from summer into fall. Reminds me of road trips in Eastern Washington where you can roll down the window and just smell the Sage. The feeling of the vast open space begins with top notes of Rosewood, mixed with middle and bottom notes of spicy Sage and Ambergris.

La Habana Eau de Parfum by 19-69
The scent is aromatic, smokey, and alluring, everything you want to capture for the season in a bottle. The inspiration behind the scent is based on a sailor’s reminiscence of Cuba before the revolution. The scent shines a light on the island’s golden musical era between the 1930s and 1950s, makes you want to pull out the vinyls and chill.

Velvet Haze Eau de Parfum by Byredo
Patchouli Leaves are at the heart of the scent, with top notes of Coconut Water and Ambrette, and base note of Cotton Musk. Byredo’s Creative Director, Mr Ben Gorman wanted his latest scent ‘Velvet Haze’ to evoke the ’60s, in particular the heady days of the counterculture movement.

Wonderwood Eau de Parfum by Comme des Garçons
Looking for an overdose of wood? Then Wonderwood is the fragrance to take you back into the fall forest with a blend of natural notes of Cedar and Sandalwood with engineered accords for a more complex olfactory experience.
New Favourite:

Series #10 CLASH Radish Vetiver by Comme des Garçons
Almost nearing a year old since it first launched, Radish Vetiver is quickly becoming a new favorite for fall. Radish and Vetiver are two roots that were never meant to cross paths underground. Perfumer Nathalie Cetto elevated them and brought them together in a woody confrontation.
