Farewell Footwear Fall/Winter 2015 Lookbook
by Adriano Batista

Titled Hospital for Souls, the Fall Winter 2015-16 collection from Farewell Footwear welcomes you to a sick world where madness is the emergency exit. Troublemakers shoes suspended between the purity of aseptic minimalism and trashy nineties opulence. The collection grows and transforms itself and, alongside the iconic wrapped creeper, (this season, in leather), sees the birth a new chunky rubber layered sole inspired by sedimentary rocks, (round + polygonal), developed flat and heeled.
The derby braided shoe models ranges from classic elegance to sporty fit with new slip on all elastic uppers, up to experimental pieces with “scar-like” stitches or furry and metallized versions of black and white dancing shoes. The “rock like” hiking shoes are composed by two simple original uppers, one characterized by a “wrap around” hooked band, the other by an “open cut” on the tip. Both models aims to be mainly male look (except from the shiny and rainbow ones), for this reason, was developed a heeled derivation layered structure dedicated to a female audience.
The chunky heel platform takes inspiration from the nineties goth boots and is strongly charachterized by the layered geometric cut marble sole. The colour spectrum is focused on black, silvers and whites with a schizophrenic presence of strong colors. Materials represent the two souls of the collection, primitive and yet contemporary: natural leather and rubberized one, fake fur and chenille, felt and technical textiles, snake prints and metallic leather.
