Exploring Sustainable Minimalism: EÑAUT’s VULTURNO Collection Raises Awareness on Climate Change
by Adriano B.
A fashion prodigy hailing from Guipúzcoa, now a Barcelona local, made a splash in the industry after graduating from IED in 2017. With experience in both slow and fast fashion, the designer felt compelled to go solo, birthing EÑAUT in September 2018.
With a meteoric rise, EÑAUT won the REC.0/080 Barcelona Fashion competition for best designer in its debut year, followed by taking home the prize for best-emerging collection at 080 Barcelona Fashion in 2019. Fast forward to 2022, the designer has expanded into teaching, imparting minimalist aesthetics and sustainable principles to the next generation while coordinating a master’s degree at IED Barcelona. Now EÑAUT proudly presents its seventh collection, VULTURNO, during 080 Barcelona Fashion.
This latest offering tackles a pressing issue- the increasing temperature of our planet. With a rise of 1.2°C already recorded, the situation is dire and demands immediate action. According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), there’s a 20% probability that we’ll exceed 1.5°C in 2024, leading to catastrophic consequences for our ecosystems and the extinction of many species of plants and animals, including the complete disappearance of reefs.
VULTURNO aims to raise awareness about this looming crisis, emphasizing that while the temperatures recorded today may be the highest in history, they’ll be the lowest for our future.
