ForFall/Winter 2016, Études propose a return to their foundations, capturing the zeitgeist of the hallucination generation. Representing an introspective tribe, the collection evokes the 1990’s European underground scene. Subcultural tropes collide with pure sartorial lines, remixed for today’s urbane reality via the signifiers of youthful rebellion. The campaign images are made of Snapshoots with a film camera, Olympus Mju, by Nicolas Poillot. The images were then copied using a photocopier Xerox to move away from a digital aesthetic. The main desire is to return the gesture of an analog process, alteration of the image. In reference to the very cheap reproduction mode, frequently used in art and in different Underground scenes since the 60’s.
