Espíritu Club’s OFICIOS

Espíritu Club, a brand focused on spirituality, upcycling, and community, presented its second collection, OFICIOS, in a repurposed textile factory in Badalona on November 30, 2024. This event highlighted the brand’s dedication to artisanal work and community.
Founded in 2021, Espíritu Club started by revamping old objects and clothes, emphasizing sustainability. They moved from selecting vintage items to creating new clothes from textile waste, marked by their first collection, “Metamorfosis,” in October 2022. The materials mainly came from the Gamarra textile center in Lima, Peru, while production happened in Barcelona with a Colombian migrant seamstress.
The OFICIOS collection has six parts, each honoring traditional crafts often overlooked in mass production. Five chapters had been released, focusing on spinners, blacksmiths, alfalfa farmers, carpenters, and herbalists, with a sixth chapter on rubber tappers coming soon. OFICIOS appreciates the dedication, tools, and clothing of artisans. Espíritu Club wants to raise awareness about conscious consumption and the value of durable goods.
The collection responds to today’s world of mass-produced, often petroleum-based plastic items with negative environmental impacts. Espíritu Club encourages questioning the need for many objects, especially those made in unfair conditions, and understanding the impact of our buying choices. They value things with history, durability, and passionate creation.
