El artista malagueño Ernesto Artillo estará el próximo jueves 16 de marzo en el ciclo #MazdaCreators en Barcelona organizados por VICE y MAZDA.

Ernesto lleva años trabajando y demostrando su talento. Su proceso creativo lo han llevado a ocupar portadas de publicaciones internacionales tan importantes como Harpers Bazaar o a trabajar para marcas como Oysho, Del Pozo, Izzue, SixLee, por decir algunas. Y ahora Mazda nos lo trae a Barcelona para que participemos en un workshop dentro del Mazda Space que Ernesto ha titulado “ESTO NO ES UNA CARA” (Selfies, arte y pérdida), inspirado por su obra Personal Branding.

“En Personal Branding, sustituyo la cara de ocho modelos newfaces, a las puertas de un futuro enfocado a la venta, por un entramado tejido con bolsas de algunas de las marcas más representativas del lujo textil. Con esta metamorfosis los retratados consiguen mostrar de manera obvia esa identidad a la que pueden aspirar. Las bolsas, objetos más baratos de una marca de lujo, se representan descontextualizadas y por eso modificadas, ellas tampoco son en ese emplazamiento lo que las campañas de sus marcas pretenden ser.” – Ernesto Artillo.

El ejercicio se basará precisamente en esto, en uno de los aspectos más característicos de la obra de Ernesto, la ausencia de caras en sus intervenciones. El artista relaciona esta “censura” como una especie de protesta ante la sobreexposición de identidad online. La repetición genera perdida y por lo tanto una misma cara repetida diariamente en diversas posturas por redes sociales para un público al que mayormente no conocemos, implica pobreza visual y pérdida de noción personal.
La cara es lo que más sobreexponemos y utilizamos como herramienta para comunicar quienes somos, a través de selfies o retratos, tanto en los medios como en las redes sociales. Ernesto propone cortar caras y reemplazarlas por una visión conceptual del universo interior de cada persona, lo que realmente somos, más poéticamente. Sin límites anatómicos ni estéticos. Estudiar a través de la intervención artística del retrato, revelar nuestro yo auténtico, el que está vivo en nuestro fuero interno.
“A través de la intervención de estos retratos, los participantes podrán expresar sus creencias y su identidad de una manera creativa y diferente. Olvidándose de proyectar la que los demás acepten o “likeen”. Se cuestionarán los cánones de expresión actuales y la imagen que proyectamos y percibimos de los demás.”

El workshop abrirá sus puertas a partir de las 19:30. La asistencia es gratuita y todo el mundo es bienvenido hasta completar aforo. Para amenizar habrá comida, bebida y música de Dj Toner.
