EIGHTEEN: Palomo Spring/Summer 2026
by Adriano Batista
For Spring/Summer 2026, Palomo returned to Madrid. The setting was The Palace Hotel, an intimate presentation that marked a homecoming after several seasons in New York. The collection, titled “Eighteen,” is an emotional journey to a specific moment in life: the threshold between youth and maturity.

The title holds two meanings. It refers to the age of emancipation, of coming into one’s own. It also marks a milestone for the house itself: this is Palomo’s eighteenth collection, a turning point in its history. This theme of transition mirrors the brand’s own present moment, as it moves its workshop from its hometown to Madrid. It is an act of leaving a comfort zone to embrace a new stage of growth.
The mood draws from the films of Sofia Coppola, where a surface of innocence often hides a deep undercurrent of rebellion. You can feel this tension in the clothes. Soft pastels create a dreamy atmosphere. Fabrics suggest the intimacy of domestic life. But this softness is punctuated by disruption: unexpected cuts, volumes that suggest desire, and details that hint at an imminent escape.
Alejandro Gómez Palomo further develops his signature style through a delicate play of textures. Hard and soft, opaque and transparent, are carefully balanced in knitwear and leather. The ongoing collaboration with Swarovski appears in floral designs adorned with colored crystals.
“Eighteen” is a manifesto about growing up. It is about leaving home and choosing to live by your own rules. As Palomo explains, it is a deeply personal story for the entire team, reflecting their own journey of stepping away from the familiar to start a new, self-defined chapter.
