The Studio Archive is a new series releasing original Polaroids taken by the founder of Dominic Albano Collection. Each one is a unique physical print, never duplicated, available to collectors for the first time.

These weren’t meant to be sold. They were personal snapshots taken at Albano’s Los Angeles home on instant film that helped shape the brand’s quiet, nostalgic aesthetic. The images, intimate and unfiltered, carry the same feeling as the clothes: subtle, textured, and deeply influenced by queer culture and European sensibilities.

The project nods to Tom Bianchi’s Fire Island Pines Polaroids, which documented queer joy and community in the 1970s and early ‘80s before the AIDS crisis changed everything. Like Bianchi’s work, Albano’s photos feel both personal and timeless.

I never planned on selling these,” Albano admits. “They were just meant to shape the mood of the brand. But now they feel more like artifacts. It felt natural to finally share them. It’s where fashion and art come together.”

The Studio Archive is now available exclusively on the brand’s website.
