Dior Pre-Fall 2024
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
Grey in its different shades and blue have been the main protagonists of the recently presented Pre-Fall 2024 menswear collection by the French maison par excellence Dior, creatively directed by Kim Jones.
The line, which was to be presented at a fashion show in Hong Kong, has finally seen the light in the form of a lookbook, photographed by the American Jackie Nickerson. In the 50 images that comprise it, the looks created by Kim can be seen, following, as usual, his characteristic design line, marked by sobriety and absolute elegance. Within these two adjectives, there is also room for fun, adding its own touch to some of them, whether in the form of bows, embroidery with rhinestones or prints.
If the proposal had to be defined in two words, it would probably be tailoring and outerwear, as it includes a selection of perfectly structured contemporary suits with fluid lines and in neutral tones that any lover of this style of clothing would dream of having in their wardrobe; and jackets/coats in different styles, fabrics and prints with those that, in addition to facing the cold, will make a cool statement.
Both parts mentioned above have a very important feature nowadays: versatility. Most of the pieces can be worn in both casual and formal situations. As for the first type, it is enough to combine it with a knitted jumper such as those bearing the Dior Oblique monogram or with any knitted garment; while as for the second one, it is recommended to wear it with collared shirts with loose bow ties that let a little bit of skin of the torso area show through.
Accessories, an indispensable part of the company, elevate Jones’ looks even further. Caps, utility bags, backpacks and lace-up shoes in a variety of colours all come into play here.
Dior men will not go out of fashion and, however discreet they may seem at times, they will never be boring. Check out the Dior Pre-Fall 2024 collection below:
