#Dieselreboot x Galeries Lafayette
by Adriano Batista

Diesel and Nicola Formichetti have unveiled the results of their creative takeover of Galeries Lafayette running from 14th -24th October- handing one thousand artists the platform of a lifetime.
Submissions on the #Dieselreboot Tumblr were open worldwide, seeking to uncover the most exciting undiscovered digital art talents across the globe. This garnered over a thousand unique entries that will comprise a street-level mosaic on the windows of Paris’s celebrated department store.
In addition to this, five artists were selected by Diesel’s Artistic Director Formichetti to produce custom installations in the most iconic indoor and outdoor locations at Galeries Lafayette.
Their digitally-inspired work, in the classical context of the prestigious French retailer, illustrates the degree to which technology is used as a creative tool and method by the generation that the #dieselreboot program talks to and engages.
Kim Laughton (CHN) and Nicolas Boillot’s (FRA) work appears across the façade of the building, LaTurbo Avedon’s (USA) installation scales the bridge and Eva Papamargariti (GRC) will feature in the women’s entry. UK illustrator and new Central St. Martin’s graduate Roxanne Gatt will see her work displayed in the women’s corner of the building, with other features to this overall transformation including a pop-up shop and a group installation in the building’s grand cupola.
