HELIOT EMIL presented their SS25 collection “CULTURAL CONSTRUCT ARTIFICIAL LANDSCAPE”, during Paris fashion week, drawing on the “Riverbed” installation by Olafur Eliasson that Creative Director Julius Juul experienced at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art where Eliasson transformed the space into a volcanic landscape. Models made their way around the runway’s centerpiece, a collaboration with ENCOR studio who designed a 100cm installation of electrochromic glass, where the transparency of the material slides can be adjusted using an electric current. The artificial current highlights the dichotomy between natural and artificial elements.

The color scheme is inspired by Icelandic landscapes, reflecting parts of Eliasson’s “Riverbed”. Volcanic black, stone tones, and glacial white evoke a raw feeling of nature. The textures are based on naturally created streams and rivers in Iceland’s glaciers. The collection features textures and fabric manipulations reminiscent of rivers and stones. The clothes explore the concept of contrast through fabric selection, design, and the integration of the brand’s well-known technicality with flowing, organic aspects. This collection also saw a monochromatic capsule collection with PUMA that combines HELIOT EMIL’s utilitarian design with the sportswear expertise of the iconic German brand. Once again, HELIOT EMIL brings defines industrial elegance.
