Anastasia Pistofidou, fundadora de FabTextiles de Fab Lab Barcelona es una arquitecta griega que trabaja con tecnologías de fabricación digital desde 2009. Ella será la encargada de contar los retos y las posibilidades que los Textile & Clothing Business Labs (TCBL) están investigando para paliar uno de los procesos más desastrosos y contaminantes de la industria textil: el teñido de fibras. A través de su propia experiencia en el workshop #Bioshades, que tendrá lugar para un grupo reducido de alumnos en Mazda Space.
El impacto que genera la industria textil en el medio ambiente es real. El sistema de producción del “pronto moda” ha creado prendas que cada vez necesitan más recursos para ser producidas, se crean cantidades insólitas de ropa que verdaderamente no necesitamos, a un precio muy elevado, no de compra, sino para el planeta. Aún queda mucho por hacer, pero son varios los actores que participan en este sector que quieren acabar con el problema. Por lo que, si aún no eres muy consciente del daño que provoca el sistema de fabricación de nuestras prendas, o piensas que esto no va contigo, deberías asistir a este evento.

Según la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), son necesarios 2.700 litros de agua para fabricar una camiseta de algodón. Imagina los miles y miles de litros que emplea la industria para fabricar la cantidad de prendas de la vorágine del fast fashion. ¿Ya vas abriendo los ojos? Pues este no es el único problema. Ahora, piensa en todos los productos químicos que se necesitan para dar color a una prenda, esta es la problemática sobre la que está construido el evento.

Después de esta ponencia, podrás unirte a las conferencias internacionales que se retransmitirán desde Waag Textile Lab de Amsterdam en streaming, a partir de las 20hs. Incluso habrá un taller de tejido con bacterias. Además, en este marco podrás disfrutar de una exposición temporal, que se podrá visitar hasta el domingo 18 de marzo, en la que conocerás piezas, prototipos y materiales que ha investigado FabTextile en los últimos años de impresión 3D, bioplásticos y textiles experimentales.
