CORNERSTONE unveiled its Fall/Winter 2018 collection, inspired by visual artist Carsten Nicolai’s use of cymatic patterns (modal vibrational phenomena) through digital media. The designer Sun Yun interpreted this concept by using a combination of colors and stripe details. He built a sound installation to experiment the collision between sound and fabric dye.
This installation has been used to create the splatter dye details throughout the making of the collection. Recording this experiment lead to the idea of capturing the moment of explosion, a visual that represents loud noises and collisions. The reuse of traditional Chinese fabrics and weaving techniques remain as the core of the brand identity.
Drop Books has released its second publication, titled “Wildness.” The book is a collaboration between photographer Mark Borthwick and fashion designer Duran Lantink.
The campaign’s narrative is a journey that captures the spirit of travel through different lights: the Parisian sunset, the break of dawn, and the glow of a bonfire.
In the digital age, a “personal brand” is often a carefully curated facade. But for Carlos Vasconcellos, it’s something far more authentic: a direct line to his soul.
TATRAS presents a new project titled “Layers of Japanese Craft.” It is a limited-edition capsule collection created with the traditional lacquer artisans of Wajima city.
