Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY Spring/Summer 2026
by Gabriel Córdoba Acosta
Every year around this time in the British capital there is what is known as fashion week, when designers present their new work. This season, unlike previous ones, there was no such event, but the fact that it didn’t take place didn’t stop some of the country’s most iconic designers from unveiling what they had in store for their audiences. Martine Rose did, but so did Charles Jeffrey – Founder and Creative Director of LOVERBOY.
Jeffrey has always had a keen interest and attraction to the music scene from a young age, that’s why he has been inspired by it to develop this Spring/Summer 2026 “Prepared Piano” collection, presented inside the iconic Abbey Road studios. Incredible but true, isn’t it? Well, yes, that happened, and suddenly that space became a runway or in other words a live happening without a script, through which paraded to the sound of music, with attitude, and of course with Charles’ designs, popular characters on social media like Marc Forné, Lyas, or colleagues in the industry as Francesco Risso – Creative Director of Marni.
Popular or not, if anything shone at the Scot’s impromptu show – with the permission of the cast and crew – it was the looks from the “Prepared Piano” line, as it was called. In all of them, it was clear that the designer has stepped into a new register, in which although his characteristic creativity, fun, and craziness are still present, he feels calmer, more mature, and wearable, something that makes sense after being in the industry for 10 years. This was reflected in the tailoring, sometimes with details that made it feel different, like gathers on the sides of the front of the jacket; bomber jackets; cardigans or knitwear; and the skirts of different lengths and prints, referencing his country.
And we all know that the calm can suddenly be cut short by turmoil and even reach its highest peaks, this is where the accessories section comes in, where Charles feels more Charles than ever for knitted bags in the shape of dogs, sailor style hats, and sunglasses.
Calm or not, Charles Jeffrey has once again given us another great collection that keeps fashion looking a little interesting.
