Carhartt WIP x Converse
by Adriano Batista
For the first time, Converse and Carhartt WIP join forces in a collaboration that flawlessly combines both brands’ unique design outlook.
Consisting of three Chuck Taylor All Star ‘70 Ox sneakers, the collection sees Carhartt WIP’s utilitarian fabrics, such as drill, canvas and rip stop, applied to the iconic Converse silhouette.
Subtle detailing on each sneaker gives a nod to the no-frills work wear upon which Carhartt WIP has built its reputation, with triple stitching on the eye row and heel counter, red bar-tack style accents on the outsole, and two sets of premium cotton woven laces.
Converse x Carhartt WIP is a celebration of two brands that span subcultures, continents and genres thanks to their timeless classics. With this collaboration they look to the future, bringing together the next generation of innovators in music, style and culture.
A$AP NAST, a prominent member of New York’s ever-influential A$AP Mob, is backed-up by London-based producer Sega Bodega, DJ Emerald Rose and 616-Crew member Jim Longden. Each of them blend music and style in their own inimitable way.
The Converse x Carhartt WIP Chuck ’70 pairs will launch on June 1st, 2017 at Converse & Carhartt WIP select retail stores, third party select retailers and on Converse.com & Carhartt-wip.com
