Antón Álvarez, better known as C. Tangana in the music world, is set to make his directorial debut with the film “La Guitarra Flamenca de Yerai Cortés.” The film will open the New Directors Section of the San Sebastián International Film Festival and will be released in Spanish cinemas on December 20 by A Contracorriente Films.

Produced by Little Spain, a creative institution known for its unconventional approach, the film revolves around a family secret that needs to be revealed. The film stars Yerai Cortés, a talented flamenco guitarist.

Antón’s foray into filmmaking is not entirely unexpected, as he has always demonstrated a multidisciplinary approach to art. His previous work, including the anthem “Oliveira Dos Cen Anos” for Real Club Celta de Vigo, has been recognized with prestigious awards like the Cannes Lions.

The poster for “La Guitarra Flamenca de Yerai Cortés” features a flamenco guitar wrapped in clouds, creating a visually striking image that raises questions about the film’s content. The creative team behind the poster, Cruz más Cruz and Rubio & del Amo, described the image as a powerful metaphor for the story told in the film.
