ASICSTIGER x HIGHS&LOWS “GEL Mai Submariner”

Sneakers store Highs and Lows has once again worked with ASICS Tiger to create a special collaborative rendition of the GEL-Mai, dubbed the “Submariner”, a sequel story to the 2015 GEL-Lyte V “Medic”.
The formula remains somewhat, premium leathers and suedes adorn the upper, however, the drab olive and pop red have been replaced for a more nautical appropriate dark navy and slate blue. Additionally, a heather neoprene is featured across the lateral side of the GEL-Mai, whilst the medial features micro-ripstop. Although a muted and stealth approach, this play of over-lays in materials allows for a very texture rich upper. Hidden details include a raised morse code print across the taping of the tongue which reads “HAL” – the imagery found on the inner-sole is a nod to the rough seas often traversed by nautical vessels.
