Alain Paul‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection is a testament to the intricate relationship between the dancer and their movement. Inspired by the early morning rehearsal studio, the collection explores concepts of body awareness and improvisation through garment design.

Central to the collection is the notion of elongation and extension. Garments are designed to stretch and flow, following the dancer’s natural movements. Asymmetrical shapes, inspired by the dancer’s extended limbs, add further dynamism to the collection.

While some garments are designed to elongate and extend, others aim to fix and constrain. Tops and t-shirts in tulle and crin create a sense of transparency and rigidity, encapsulating the body beneath. Tailored pieces with arched shoulders and straps further enhance this sense of fixation. However, the collection also offers moments of freedom, with tailored shorts and sleeveless blazers contrasting the more structured pieces.
