adidas by kolor SS16 Performance Collection
by Adriano Batista

Imagine sport in full kolor. adidas by kolor, a new partnership between the well-known Japanese fashion label and the German leader in performance innovation, offers an electric vision of sport-intended style. Fusing the renowned craftsmanship of adidas with the authentic attitude of kolor, the collaboration yields forward-minded sports apparel and footwear for men. Returning for its second season, adidas by kolor presents a subtle evolution of its established design codes and styles: new looks, new colorways, and new breakthroughs.

At the center of adidas by kolor lies a balanced emphasis on form, cut, fit, material, and, of course, color. Experimenting with the latest adidas innovations, kolor founder and designer Mr. Junichi Abe creates 21st-century updates on sport essentials: the Space Mesh Hoodie, the Techfit Shorts, and the Adizero XT, among other key pieces. Abe utilizes technologies such as Climaheat and Climachill to create some of the most forward-thinking sportswear in the world.

Each piece of adidas by kolor is instantly wearable and uniquely considered. The Climaheat Hoodie offers adidas’ most advanced thermal fleece technology paired with searing neon colors and an iconic mirror ripstop hood composed of silver foil. The Spacer Hoodie utilizes thick mesh accented with contrasting neon mesh and trimmed in chevron taping.

The matching Climachill Shorts feature dual layers of jersey mesh—knitted with adidas’ breakthrough “sub-zero yarn”—and a silver foil half-peplum at the waist. The Woven Jacket in paper-touch nylon mesh is a modern anorak with intriguing, subtle design details, like perforation in the pattern of the adidas logo. The Mesh Woven Shorts employ a fearless patchwork of color to striking effect. The Long Sleeve Hybrid Top is engineered for action with intarsia patches of jersey and silver foil, highlighting articulated elbows and shoulder blades.

Much like apparel, adidas by kolor footwear exploits the best of adidas technology. The adizero XT, available in tan-black and white-silver colorways, highlighted by a playful exaggerated tongue and sock-like uppers for the ultimate in style, fit, and performance. The Pure Boost ZG, harnesses a revolution in cushioning technology—composed of thousands of energy capsules that store and return energy in every step—and fuses it with an iconic new aesthetic.
